This past weekend, the Beemer freaks descended on Las Vegas and Las Vegas Motor Speedway for a celebration of all things BMW.
The organizers arranged caravans of BMW faithful from surrounding states. When they hit Vegas they went to shows, did up the restaurants and patiently waited until they got their chance to do what most BMW owners like to do best – DRIVE.
On Friday, the drag strip at the LVMS was the place to be. There were also lots of parties and official as well as unofficial get togethers.
On Saturday the group made a brief appearance at the local Cars & Coffee and then headed back out to LVMS for a show and shine as well as track time on the road course. Perhaps one of the coolest things was the parade lap with all the participants.
There were lots of vendors selling car-related stuff and even some nice go-go dancers. It was pretty much what you’d expect from a car show.
There were lots of pool parties and late night clubbing – none of which yours truly took part in because well frankly, I wouldn’t be welcome at such events. But I can say it appeared that despite a few organizational glitches and a fairly jack-booted approach to security, a good time was had by all.
